Cookie Policy
- What are cookies?
As clarified by the Italian Data Protection Authority in its December 2012 FAQ, cookies are "small text files"—made up of letters and numbers—" that websites visited by a user send to their terminal (usually the browser), where they are stored before being re-transmitted to the same websites the next time the same user visits ." Cookies streamline web traffic analysis, signal when a specific website or part of it is visited, distinguish visitors in order to provide personalized content, and help administrators improve the website and the user's browsing experience. Cookies cannot access other information stored on your device, even if the cookies are downloaded to your device. Cookies cannot load code of any kind, carry viruses or malware, and do not harm the user's terminal.
Below you can find all the information about the cookies installed through this site, as well as instructions on how to manage your preferences in this regard.
- User consent to the use of cookies
When connecting for the first time to any page of the Site, the user will see an information banner appear regarding the use of cookies, which will allow you to manage your installation preferences (consent).
The site remembers the user's choice, so the brief notice will not be displayed again on subsequent visits from the same device. However, the user always has the option to revoke all or part of the consent already given.
If you encounter any technical issues related to providing your consent, please contact us through the appropriate channels provided on this site so we can assist you.
- Cookie duration
Cookies can be:
- session cookies, which are stored persistently on the user's computer and are deleted when the browser is closed, are strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers necessary to allow safe and efficient exploration of the site, avoiding the use of other IT techniques that could potentially compromise the privacy of users' browsing;
- Persistent cookies remain stored on your computer's hard drive until they expire or are deleted by the user/visitor. Persistent cookies automatically recognize visitors to the site (or any other users using the same computer) each time they visit. Visitors can set their browser to accept/reject all cookies or to display a warning each time a cookie is proposed, allowing them to decide whether or not to accept it. Users can, however, change the default settings and disable cookies (i.e., block them permanently) by setting the highest security level.
- Type of cookies
Cookies can be:
- first-party , i.e. cookies that have this website as their domain;
- third-party , i.e. cookies that are related to external domains.
Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external entity, always referred to as a "third party," not managed by the site. Another type of cookie is so-called " Flash Cookies " (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to deliver certain content, such as video clips or animations, in order to remember your settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on your device but are managed through a different interface than the one provided by your browser.
We also use Facebook pixel technology, a third-party tool consisting of a small piece of programming code inserted into our site that allows us to collect statistical data, monitor the actions performed by visitors on our site, and create custom audiences to which we can display our ads, as well as take advantage of many other related features.
- Nature of cookies
Regarding the nature of cookies, there are different types:
- Technical cookies: these are used for the sole purpose of " carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service " (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).
They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator. They can be divided into:
- Browsing or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, purchases or authentication to access restricted areas); they are, in fact, necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
- analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site, in order to improve the site's performance;
- Functional cookies, which allow the user to navigate based on a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided. The installation of these cookies does not require the user's prior consent (more information in the Cookie Management section below).
- Profiling cookies: these cookies are designed to create user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing online. The user's consent is required for the use of profiling cookies. In the case of third-party cookies, the site does not have direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (neither directly installing nor deleting them). You can, however, manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below) or the sites listed in the "Managing Cookies" section.
